AKA Horizontal version, acetabular angle of abduction, theta angle.

  • Normal 40 +/- 10 degrees
  • Shallow angles result in limited abduction of hip, with subsequent difficulty with perineal care and intercourse
  • Steep angles increase risk of dislocation
